ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE POLIOVIRUS NEUTRALIZING MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES REACTING WITH PEPTIDE STRUCTURES OF THE POLIOVIRUS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INDUCTION OF AN ANTIPOLIOMYELITIC IMMUNITY; HYBRIDOMAS SECRETING SUCH ANTIBODIES AND PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION. The invention relates to poliovirus neutralizing monoclonal antibodies capable of reacting with peptide structures of the poliovirus responsible for the induction of antipoliomyelitic immunity as well as to the corresponding secreting hybridomas. A process for making such hybridomas comprises fusing spleen cells of an animal previously immunized against poliovirus with "C" antigenicity and myeloma cells, selecting those of the hybridomas secreting antibodies active both against polioviruses with "C" and "D" antigenicities and against the capsid VP1-structural peptide.
