A B S T R A C T This invention relates to halogenated polyols and polyurethane foams prepared from them. Compounds of the invention are 1-polyhalophenoxy-3-amino-2-propanols having hydroxyalkyl substituents on the amine nitrogens. Rigid urethane foams may be prepared using the halogenated polyols. Those foams demonstrate superior resistance to burning and have excellent physical properties, which make them useful as insulation materials.
