Compositions based on blends of certain specified poly(vinyl alcohol) copolymers and various starches are described which are useful as sizes, and can have improved ability to be desized from fabrics compared with the starches alone. The specific poly(vinyl alcohol) copolymers useful in the blends with the starches are copolymers having a high level of acrylic ester comonomer. The blend sizes are useful in producing woven materials since they are excellent sizes, and are uniquely adaptable to caustic desizing.
Des compositions à base de mélanges de certains copolymères d'alcool de polyvinyle et de différents amidons sont utiles en tant qu'agents d'encollage et peuvent présenter une aptitude améliorée à se désencoller des tissus par rapport aux seuls amidons. Les copolymères spécifiques d'alcool de polyvinyle utiles en mélanges avec ces amidons sont des copolymères qui offrent une teneur élevée en comonomères d'ester acrylique. Les agents d'encollage en mélanges servent à produire des articles tissés car ils sont excellents et se révèlent exceptionnellement adaptables au désencollage à l'aide d'agents caustiques.
