The present invention relates to a process for making polyalkyldiallylamine- epihalohydrin resins, the resultant resins and their uses as wet strength additives for papermaking. These resins are obtained by a two-step process, wherein the first step comprises the free radical polymerization or copolymerization of an alkyldiallylamine monomer in its protonated form; and the second step comprises reacting an ADAA polymer or copolymer with epihalohydrin under carefully controlled reaction conditions.
La présente invention concerne un processus de fabrication de résines polyalkyldiallylamine-épihalohydrine, les résines obtenues et leurs utilisations comme additifs de résistance humide dans la fabrication du papier. Ces résines sont obtenues par un processus en deux étapes, la première étape comprenant la polymérisation ou la copolymérisation radicalaire d'un monomère alkyldiallylamine dans sa forme protonée et la seconde étape comprenant la réaction d'un polymère ou d'un copolymère ADAA avec de l'épihalohydrine dans des conditions de réaction soigneusement maîtrisées.
