A process for increasing the relative viscosity (RV) of a reactant polyamide and to products produced by the process. The process includes contacting the reactant polyamide and a chain extender compound, forming the product, and quenching the product when its RV is near its maximum calculated RV value.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'augmenter la viscosité relative (VR) d'un réactif ainsi que des produits élaborés selon ce procédé. Ledit procédé consiste notamment à mettre en contact le réactif polyamide et un composé allongeur de chaîne, formant le produit, et à refroidir celui-ci lorsque sa VR s'approche de la valeur maximale calculée de sa VR.
