The present invention teaches a composition which provides gas, flavor, and aroma barrier to substrates, where the composition is formed by mixing an ethylenically unsaturated acid and a polyamine, wherein said polyamine has a crosslinker reacted therein, and wherein said polyamine has four or more A, B or C units, where A is an -R2-N(R1)2 unit, B is an -R1-N(R2-)2 unit, and C is an (-R2)3N- unit, where R1 is independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, and alkylaryl, and R2 is independently selected from the group consisting of: linear or branched alkylene groups or substituted alkylene groups having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and arylene groups or substituted arylene groups having from 6 to 18 carbon atoms. The composition is coated on a substrate then optionally treated to initiate a free radical reaction. The invention can be applied as a coating to a variety of substrates used in packaging applications.
La présente invention concerne une composition constituant, pour des substrats, une couche formant barrière contre les gaz, les flaveurs et arômes. On prépare cette composition en mélangeant un acide insaturé sur le plan éthylénique et une polyamine dans laquelle on a fait réagir un agent de réticulation, cette polyamine étant caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte au moins quatre unités A, B ou C, dans lesquelles A représente une unité -R<2>-N(R<1>)2, B représente une unité -R<1>-N(R<2>-)2 et C représente une unité (-R<2>)3N-, où R<1> est indépendamment choisi dans le groupe constitué par hydrogène, alkyle, alkyle substitué, aryle, aryle substitué, arylalkyle et alkylaryle, et R<2> est indépendamment choisi dans le groupe constitué par des groupes alkylènes linéaires ou ramifiés, ou des groupes alkylènes substitués possédant 1 à 18 atomes de carbone, et des groupes arylènes ou des groupes arylènes substitués possédant 6 à 18 atomes de carbone. On dépose cette composition sur un substrat, que l'on traite, le cas échéant, afin d'amorcer une réaction radicalaire. L'invention peut s'appliquer à divers substrats utilisés dans l'emballage.
