A polyaryl ether copolymer which has the following formula (1) and contains at least 0.1 o by weight of a hydrophilic group, (see formula I) each of Ar1 and Ar3 independently represents a group selected from the following groups, (see formula II, III, IV) each of Ar2 and Ar9 independently represents a group selected from the following groups, (see formula V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI) the hydrophilic group is substituted on at least one of Ar1, Ar2, Ar3 and Ar4, and each of n and m represents a copolymerization compositional ratio.
