- 29 - POLYARYLATES HAVING IMPROVED HYDROLYTIC STABILITY Abstract This invention relates to moldable polyarylates and in particular to moldable polyarylate compositions which have repeating units derived from bis-(3,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) sulfone (TMBS), optionally a dihydric phenol such as 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane (Bisphenol A) and a mixture of isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid or derivatives thereof. Such polyarylates exhibit improved hydrolytic stability.
