A bone fixation assembly (10) which includes a fixation plate (11) having a through passage (12) and a fastening screw (13) having a threaded shaft (14) for insertion through the passage (12) and thereafter threadable insertion into underlying bone. The screw head (15) has substantially frustospherical shaped side surfaces. A bushing (16) is provided and has an annular cup shaped side wall (17) defining an upwardly open interior bowl (20) for receiving the screw head (15). The bushing (16) has annularly shaped slots (21) in its side wall (17) which depend downwardly from its upper end (18) for allowing inward compression of the side wall (17) at the upper end (18). A centrally located screw shank passage (22) is provided in the lower end (19) of the bushing (16) to prevent passage of the screw shank (13). The bushing bowl (20) is further configured and dimensioned for polyaxial rotation of the screw head (15) in the bowl (20) and for preventing back out of the screw head (15) when the side wall (17) is compressed inwardly. The through passage (12) of the bone plate (11) is further configured and dimensioned to downwardly receive the bushing (16) therein for inwardly compressing the bushing (16) about the screw head (15) and an annular recess (23) is provided in the through passage (12) which receives the upper annular end (18) of the bushing (16) under compression with a snap fit whereby the screw head (15) is retained in the bowl (20) and is thereby prevented from backing out. The screw head (15) is expandable for thereby locking the screw (13) relative to the bone fixation plate (11).
La présente invention concerne un ensemble de fixation osseuse (10) comprenant une plaque de fixation (11) présentant un passage traversant (12) et une vis de fixation (13) dotée d'une tige filetée (14) conçue pour être introduite dans le passage (12) puis après insertion par vissage dans l'os sous-jacent. La tête (15) de la vis présente des surfaces latérales sphériques essentiellement tronquées. Une bague de raccordement (16) est ajoutée et elle présente une paroi latérale (17) forme de coupelle annulaire définissant un bol intérieur ouvert vers le haut (20) permettant de recevoir la tête (15) de la vis. La bague de raccordement (16) présente des encoches annulaires (21) ménagées dans sa paroi latérale (17) lesquelles encoches descendent depuis son extrémité supérieur (18) de manière à permettre la compression vers l'intérieur de la paroi latérale (17) au niveau de l'extrémité supérieure (18). Un passage (22) destiné à la tige de la vis est ménagé au centre de l'extrémité inférieure (19) de la bague de raccordement (16) de manière à empêcher le passage de la tige (13) de la vis. Le bol (20) destiné à la bague de raccordement est conçu de manière à permettre une rotation polyaxiale de la tête (15) de vis dans le bol (20) et de manière à empêcher le retrait de la tête (15) de vis lorsque la paroi latérale (17) est comprimée vers l'intérieur. Le passage traversant (12) de la plaque osseuse (11) est également conçu pour recevoir la bague de raccordement (16) de haut en bas afin de permettre la compression de cette bague (16) autour de la tête (15) de vis ; un évidement annulaire (23) est également ménagé dans le passage traversant (12) qui reçoit l'extrémité supérieure annulaire (18) de la bague de raccordement (16) à l'application d'une compression par emboîtement pression ; la tête (15) de la vis est retenue dans le bol (20) ce qui l'empêche de se retirer. La tête (15) de la vis peut se dilater de manière à bloquer la vis (13) par rapport à la plaque de fixation osseuse (11).
