The present invention relates to polybutene-1 homopolymers, or copolymers containing up to 20 % by weight of alpha olefins having from 2 to 10 carbon atoms other than butene-1, characterized by the following properties: (i) an isotactic index (mmmm %), measured by NMR analysis according to the method specified below, of higher than 93; (ii) a Molecular Weight Distribution (MWD) in terms of Mw/Mn, measured by GPC analysis according to the method specified below, of higher than 6; and (iii) a content of catalytic residues expressed in terms of Ti ppm of lower than 50. Said polymers are very suitable for the preparation of articles, in particular pipes, having improved creep and burst stress resistance.

Cette invention concerne des homopolymères ou des copolymères de polybutène-1 qui contiennent jusqu'à 20 % en poids d'alpha-oléfines comprenant de 2 à 10 atomes de carbone différents du butène-1, qui se caractérisent par les propriétés suivantes: (i) un indice isotactique (mmmm %) mesuré par analyse RMN suivant le procédé spécifié ci-dessouis qui est supérieur à 93; (ii) une distribution des poids moléculaires (DPM) en termes de poids moléculaire/nombre moléculaire, mesuré par analyse par chromatographie sur gel selon le procédé spécifié ci-dessous, qui est supérieure à 6; et (iii) une teneur en résidus catalytiques exprimée en termes de Ti ppm qui est inférieure à 50. Lesdits polymères sont tout à fait appropriés à la préparation d'articles, et plus particulièrement de tuyaux ou de canalisations présentant une résistance accrue à une charge statique continue et à l'éclatement.
