A composition is disclosed, comprising a polycarbonate resin, an inorganic infrared shielding additive, and carbon black, wherein an article prepared from the composition has the inorganic infrared shielding additive present at about 0.01 to about 1.0 grams per square meter, and carbon black present at about 0.001 to about 2.0 grams per square meter. The article prepared from the composition meets at least one scale requirement for European Norm EN 169 and/or EN 171, and is useful for preparing infrared shielding protective eyewear with low haze.

La présente invention a trait à une composition comportant une résine de polycarbonate, un additif organique de blindage infrarouge, et du noir de carbone, un article réalisé à partir de ladite composition ayant un additif inorganique de blindage infrarouge présent entre environ 0.01 à environ 1,0 grammes par mètre carré, et du noir de carbone entre environ 0,001 et environ 2,0 grammes par mètre carré. L'article réalisé à partir de la composition satisfait au moins une exigence d'échelle pour la norme européenne EN 169 et/ou EN 171, et est utile pour la préparation de lunettes de protection à blindage d'infrarouge à faible trouble.
