A formaldehyde free co-binder solution formed by using a polyol to crosslink polycarboxylic acid and a polyacid monomer is provided. In forming the co- binder solution, the polyacid monomer and the polyol are mixed in any conventional device with heat and agitation for a period of time sufficient for the chemicals to react and form a reaction product. The resultant product is then admixed with polycarboxylic acid to form a co-binder solution. In a preferred embodiment, the polyacid is maleic anhydride and the polyol is triethanolamine.

L'invention concerne une solution de liants associés exempte de formaldéhyde formée au moyen d'un polyol destiné à réticuler un acide polycarboxylique et un polyacide monomère. Lors de la formation de la solution de liants associés, le polyacide monomère et le polyol sont mélangés dans un dispositif classique par chauffage et par brassage sur une période de temps suffisante pour mettre en réaction les produits chimiques et former un produit de réaction. Le produit en résultant est alors ajouté à l'acide polycarboxylique pour former une solution de liants associés. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le polyacide est un anhydride maléique et le polyol est une triéthanolamine.
