SMC 36681 ABSTRACT POLYCYCLIC DYES A polycylic dye of the Formula (1): Image Formula (1) wherein: R1 is -OSO2R in which R is optionally substituted alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, alkoxyaryl, cycloalkyl or heteroaryl; Ring A is unsubstituted or is substituted by from one to three groups; and Ring B is unsubstituted or is substituted by one or two groups in addition to the group R1. Dyes of the present invention are useful for the coloration of textile materials particularly synthetic textile materials such as polyester, dye mixtures comprising a polycyclic dye of Formula (1) and a different polycyclic dye or an azo dye show improved build-up on polyester material.
