ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reinforced elastomer containing as reinforcing resin from 25 parts to 250 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of elastomer of a polydodecenamer which has been manufactured from a) 50 to 90 per cent by weight of cyclododecene, b) 5 to 40 per cent by weight of cyclododecadiene, and optionally c) up to 10 per cent by weight of 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene, in the presence of a solvent and with the aid of a metathesis catalyst, and which has a reduced specific viscosity, measured in decalin at 135°C, of 0.5 to 6 dl/g and a transvinylene content of more than 60%. Vulcanisates re- inforced according to this procedure exhibit improved elasticity, permanent set, and abrasion, and find use in the fabrication of shoe soles and the like.
