A coil coating composition producing a coil coating with excellent properties at a lower peak metal temperature includes (a) a first, branched polyester with an hydroxyl number of at least about 80 mg KOH/g, (b) a second, essentially linear polyester with an hydroxyl number of at least about 44 mg KOH/g, and (c) a crosslinking agent. The branched polyester is prepared by condensation of a polyol component consisting essentially of a flexibilizing dial, a branched diol, and, optionally, a polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups and a polyacid component consisting essentially of one or more aromatic or cycloaliphatic dicarboxylic acids and polymerizable anhydrides and esters thereof and, optionally, a polyacid having at least three carboxylic acid groups or polymerizable anhydrides or esters thereof, wherein at least one of the polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups and the polyacid having at least three carboxyl groups or an anhydride or methyl ester thereof is included. The essentially linear polyester is prepared by condensation of a polyol component consisting essentially of a flexiblizing diol and a branched diol and a polyacid component consisting essentially of one or more aromatic or cycloaliphatic dicarboxylic acids and polymerizable anhydrides and esters thereof. The branched diols of the first and second polyesters are independently selected from the group consisting of 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol, 2-ethyl-2-butyl-1,3-propanediol, propylene glycol, neopentyl glycol, and combinations thereof.
La présente invention concerne une composition d'enduction de bandes en continu qui permet une enduction en continu présentant de très bonnes propriétés à une température pic-métal inférieure. Cette composition comprend (a) un premier polyester ramifié, avec un nombre d'hydroxyle d'au moins environ 80 mg KOH/g, (b) un second polyester essentiellement linéaire, avec un nombre d'hydroxyle d'au moins environ 40 mg KOH/g et (c) un agent de réticulation. Le polyester ramifié est préparé par condensation d'un composant polyol, principalement constitué d'un diol plastifiant, d'un diol ramifié et éventuellement d'un polyol présentant au moins trois groupes hydroxyle, et d'un composant polyacide, principalement constitué d'un ou de plusieurs acides dicarboxyliques aromatiques ou cycloaliphatiques et d'anhydrides polymérisables et d'esters de ceux-ci et éventuellement d'un polyacide présentant au moins trois groupes d'acide carboxylique ou d'anhydrides polymérisables ou d'esters de ceux-ci, au moins un du polyol présentant au moins trois groupes hydroxyle et du polyacide présentant au moins trois groupes carboxyle ou un anhydride ou ester méthylique de celui-ci étant compris. Le polyester essentiellement linéaire est préparé par condensation d'un composant polyol, principalement constitué d'un diol plastifiant, d'un diol ramifié et d'un composant polyacide, principalement constitué d'un ou de plusieurs acides dicarboxyliques aromatiques ou cycloaliphatiques et d'anhydrides polymérisables et d'esters de ceux-ci. Les diols ramifiés du premier et du second polyester sont choisis indépendamment dans le groupe formé par 2-méthyl-1,3-propanediol, 2,2,4-triméthyl-1,3-pentanediol, 2-éthyl-2-butyl-1,3-propanediol, propylène glycol, néopentyl glycol et des combinaisons de ceux-ci.
