A polyester fiber made from a polymer having ethylene glycol moieties, isosorbide moieties and terepthaloyl moieties, and the method of making the fiber is described. The polyester fiber is used to form articles suitable for commercial, especially textile, and industrial uses, and has an inherent viscosity of at least 0.35 dL/g when measured as a 1% (weight/volume) solution of the polyester in o-chlorophenol at a temperature of 25 ~C.

L'invention concerne une fibre de polyester fabriquée à partir d'un polymère comportant des fractions d'éthylène glycole, des fractions d'isosorbide et des fractions de térepthaloyle. L'invention traite également d'un procédé de fabrication de ces fibres. Ladite fibre de polyester est utilisée pour former des articles pouvant être utilisés pour des applications commerciales, en particulier, le textile, et industrielles, et présente une viscosité d'au moins 0,35 dL/g lorsqu'elle est mesurée sous forme d'une solution de 1% (poids/volume) du polyester dans du o-chlorophénol à une température de 25 ·C.
