23 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein is a polyester film for high-density magnetic tapes, having a light transmittance of not more than 55% and comprising: a layer composed of polyester (A) having a specific surface characteristic, and a layer composed of polyester (B) laminated on at least one side of said layer of polyester (A), containing not less than 2.0 wt% of the particles, and having a thickness of not more than 2.5 µm and the specific surface characteristics.
