POLYESTER POLYURETHANES CONTAINING HYDROXY END GROUPS AND THEIR USE AS ADHESIVES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a substantially linear polyester polyurethane containing hydroxyl end groups which is prepared by reacting (a) a polyester diol having a molecular weight above 600 and (b) an organic diisocyanate optionally in the presence of (c) diols having a molecular weight in the range of from 62 to 600 as chain lengthening agents, at an equivalent ratio of hydroxyl groups to isocyanate groups of from 1:0.9 to 0.099, and wherein at least 80% by weight of component (a) consists of a polyester diol having a molecular weight of from 4000 to 6000 based on (i) adipic acid and (ii) a mixture of 1,4-dihydroxy butane and 1,6-dihydroxy hexane in a molar ratio of from 4:1 to 1:4 and to its use as an adhesive.
