Unsatured terephthalate-based polyester resins (UPR) based on 2-methyl-1,3- propanediol, a satured dicarboxylic acid or derivative thereof, and an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or derivative thereof be prepared without use of a catalyst in reason- able cycle times. UPR based on these monomers exhibit exceptional solubility in styrene, and are thus useful in polyester molding resins.
Cette invention concerne des résines de polyester insaturé à base de téréphthalate (UPR) obtenues à partir de 2-méthyl-1,3-propanediol, d'un acide dicarboxylique saturé ou d'un dérive dudit acide, et d'un acide dicarboxylique insaturé ou d'un dérivé dudit acide, lesquelles résines peuvent être obtenues sans catalyseur en un temps de cycle raisonnable. Les UPR à base desdits monomères présentent une solubilité exceptionnelle dans le styrène et conviennent donc bien pour les résines polyesteriques de moulage.
