Polyester water-based defoamers are prepared by reaction of a dimer fatty acid, a fatty acid and two different polyalkylene polyols, e.g. polypropylene glycol and polyethylene glycol. The resulting polyesters are readily dispersible in water to form a water-based macroemulsion in the absence of any oil or short chain alcohols. The macroemulsion is an effective defoamer in ground-wood and thermomechanical pulping operations.
L'invention concerne des agents anti-moussants polyester à base d'eau obtenus par réaction d'un acide gras dimère, d'un acide gras et de deux polyols polyalkylène différents, par exemple de glycol polypropylène et de glycol polyéthylène. Les polyesters ainsi obtenus sont facilement dispersibles dans l'eau, ce qui donne une macroémulsion à base d'eau exempte d'huile quelconque ou d'alcools à chaîne courte. La macroémulsion est un agent anti-moussant efficace dans les opérations de préparation de pâte mécanique de défibreur et thermomécanique.
