The novel polyester (first polyester [A]) of the invention comprises dicarboxylic acid constituent units derived from at least one dicarboxylic acid selected from terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and diol constituent units derived from diols comprising ethylene glycol and a polyalkylene glycol having a C2 - C10 alkylene chain, wherein the proportion of constituent units derived from the polyalkylene glycol is 0.001 to 10 % by weight based on the diol constituent units. The polyester [A] has an excellent crystallization rate, is suitably used, singly or as compositions together with another polyester [B] and/or other polymers, for production of molded products such as films, sheets, laminates, preforms and bottles, which have excellent gas barrier properties, transparency and heat resistance. The polyester composition of the invention comprises 1 to 99 % by weight of the first polyester [A] and 1 to 99 % by weight of another polyester [B], a polyamide and/or a polyolefin. The polyester laminate of the invention has a multi-layer structure comprising a first resin layer of the first polyester [A] or the compostion and a second resin layer of another polyester [B], a polyamide and/or a polyolefin. The process for producing biaxially stretched bottle comprises the steps of producing a preform from the first polyester [A], the composition or the polyester laminate, heating it, subjecting it to biaxial stretch blow molding to give a stretched bottle and holding the bottle in a mold at a temperature of not lower than 100 °C.
Le nouveau polyester (premier polyester [A]) de l'invention comprend des unités d'acide dicarboxylique dérivées d'au moins un acide dicarboxylique choisi parmi les acides téréphtalique, isophtalique et naphtalènedicarboxylique, ainsi que des diols comprenant l'éthylèneglycol et un poly(alkylèneglycol) à chaîne d'alkylène C2 - C10, où la proportion d'unités dérivées du poly(polyalkylèneglycol) représente de 0,001 à 10 % en poids, pourcentage basé sur les diols. Le polyester [A] a un excellent taux de cristallisation; il est utile seul ou en composition avec un autre polyester [B] et (ou) d'autres polymères, pour la production d'articles moulés, notamment de pellicules, de feuilles, de laminés, de préformes et de bouteilles, possédant d'excellentes propriétés de transparence, de résistance thermique et d'imperméabilisation aux gaz. La composition de polyester de l'invention renferme de 1 à 99 % en poids d'un premier polyester [A] et de 1 à 99 % en poids d'un autre polyester [B], un polyamide et (ou) une polyoléfine. Le laminé de polyester de l'invention a une structure multi-couches, avec une première couche de résine du premier polyester [A] ou de la composition et une seconde couche de résine d'un autre polyester [B], un polyamide et (ou) une polyoléfine. Le procédé pour l'obtention d'une bouteille à étirage biaxial, consiste à produire une préforme à partir du premier polyester [A], de la composition ou du laminé de polyester, à la chauffer, à la soumettre à un moulage par soufflage avec étirage biaxial, de façon à obtenir une bouteille étirée, et à maintenir la bouteille dans le moule à une température d'au moins 100 degrés C.
