ABSTRACT Polyether compounds viz. antibiotics X-14868A and X-14868B of the general formula Image I wherein R is hydrogen or methyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Moreover, two further minor components, viz. anti- biotics X-14868C and D (Na salts). These products are prepared by fermentation of novel Nocardia species. The compounds have antimicrobial activity and promote the growth-of ruminant animals.
