A block copolymer resin containing structural units conforming to Image and a method for its preparation are disclosed. Accordingly, the block copolymer is prepared by reactive blending of an ester-containing polyether sulfone with a polyester. The block copolymer resin thus produced is characterized by its homogeneous morphology. The high level of its mechanical properties makes the resin suitable for a variety of applications.
