Glycerol, glycidol, glycerol carbonate or 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-4-methanol is polymerized into preponderantly linear oligomers at 150 °C to 350 °C in the presence of a catalyst, selected from RbF, CsF and/or KF impregnated on alumina, zirconium oxide, and cesium or rubidium ions exchanged zeolite. The alumina is preferably gamma-alumina and the zeolite is preferably a Y-zeolite or a zeolite beta.

Du glycérol, du glycidol, du carbonate de glycérol ou du 2,2-diméthyl-1,3-dioxolane-4-méthanol sont polymérisés pour former des oligomères principalement linéaires à des températures comprises entre 150 ~C et 350 ~C, et en présence d'un catalyseur choisi entre RbF, CsF et/ou KF incorporés dans de l'alumine, de l'oxyde de zirconium, et un zéolite ayant subi un échange d'ions avec du césium ou du rubidium. L'alumine est de préférence une alumine gamma, et le zéolite est de préférence un zéolite Y ou bêta.
