ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Polyhydroxy phenol according to the formula: Image where R is an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, the methylene bridges being bonded to the central phenol ring in the ortho- positions in relation to the hydroxyl group and to the other phenol rings in the ortho- or para- positions in relation to the hydroxyl group. This polyhydroxy phenol can be used as antioxi- dants for plastics materials and stabilizers for unsaturated polyester resins, and for preparing epoxy resins, novolaks and resols.
