A battery includes an anode, a cathode, and a polymer matrix electrolyte (PME) separator disposed between the anode and the cathode. The PME separator includes a polyimide, at least one lithium salt in a concentration of at least 0.5 moles of lithium per mole of imide ring provided by the polyimide, and at least one solvent intermixed. The PME is generally homogeneous as evidenced by its high level of optically clarity. The battery can be a lithium ion or lithium metal battery.

L'invention porte sur une batterie comprenant une anode, une cathode et un séparateur d'électrolyte de matrice polymère (PME) placé entre l'anode et la cathode. Le séparateur de PME comprend un polyimide, au moins un sel de lithium dans une concentration d'au moins 0,5 moles de lithium par mole d'un noyau d'imide formé par le polyimide, et au moins un solvant mélangé. Le PME est généralement homogène comme le met en évidence son niveau élevé de clarté optique. La batterie peut être une batterie au lithium-ion ou au métal lithium.
