POLYMER BINDER FOR EXPLOSIVE COMPOSITIONS Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to an energetic binder for use in an explosive composition. The present energetic binder comprises an adduct of a hydroformylated, monovinyl aromatic/conjugated diene thermoplastic elastomer (e.g. hydroformylated styrene/butadiene thermoplastic elastomer) and a hydrazine derivative selected from 2, 4 dinitrophenylhydrazine and 2, 4, 6, dinitrophenylhydrazine and 2, 4, 6 trinitrophenylhydrazine. The present energetic binder is used to bind together the components of an explosive in a solid form. When the explosive is detonated, the energetic binder decomposes and provides gaseous nitrogen or nitrogen oxides.
