A flat paint emulsion comprising following compositions (A), (B) and (C), that is; (A) a synthetic resin emulsion in which polymer particles containing certain structural unit derived from styrene and that derived from a multi- functional monomer are emulsified and dispersed at a predetermined ratio, (B) a synthetic resin emulsion in which polymer particles containing structural unit derived from vinyl acetate are emulsified and dispersed, and polyvinyl alcohol protective colloid agent is contained at a predetermined ratio against the polymer particles, and (C) a urethane resin emulsion. Since a flatting agent is excluded from the emulsion, the polymer emulsion for mat paint obtained by mixing the above compositions (A) to (C) has superior anti-contamination property. Contaminants can be removed easily even if they adhere on the paint film formed.
