The present invention relates to polymer films and processes for the preparation thereof. The present films comprise a polymer compound containing at least one anisotropic liquid crystalline polymer and at least one isotropic polymer, said isotropic polymer forming the polymer matrix of the film and said anisotropic liquid crystalline polymer being essentially located in at least one lamellar layer embedded in the polymer matrix and a least substantially extending over the length and width of the film. The oxygen transmission rate of the film is less than 150 cm3/(m2.d.bar), determined according to the standard ASTM D 3985 - 81. The films can be used in packaging laminates.
Feuilles polymères et leurs procédés de préparation. Ces feuilles comportent un composé polymère renfermant au moins un polymère cristallin liquide anisotrope et au moins un polymère isotrope, ledit polymère isotrope formant la matrice polymère de la feuille et ledit polymère cristallin liquide anisotrope étant essentiellement situé dans au moins une couche lamellaire noyée dans la matrice polymère, et s'étendant au moins sensiblement sur toute la longueur et toute la largeur de la feuille. Le taux de transmission d'oxygène de la feuille est inférieur à 150 cm?3¿/(m?2¿.d.bar), selon la norme ASTM D 3985 - 81. Les feuilles sont utilisables dans les stratifiés de conditionnement.
