POLYMER FILTER CARTRIDGE OF GLASS FIBERS COATED WITH FLUOROETHYLENE POLYMER AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Filter cartridges are provided having a filter medium of glass fibers coated and bonded together by fluoroethylene polymer, such as polytetrafluoroethylene or polytrifluorochlor- ethylene, which are highly resistant to attack by corrosive fluids, and have a melting or softening temperature well above the liquefaction temperature of most thermoplastic polymers. These filter cartridges have a filter sheet of such material formed in a closed configuration, with end caps and a side seam seal sealed to the fluoroethylene polymer-coated filter sheet by way of a thermo- plastic fluoroethylene polymer.
