The present invention relates to a polymer material which is difficult to burn, comprising at least one polymer and a fire retardant, the fire retardant being constituted by magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide in proportions such that the ratio by weight between the magnesium hydroxide and the aluminium hydroxide is between 20/80 and 60/40 and that the fraction by weight of the sum of the magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide contents with respect to the sum of the contents of all the constituen ts of the material is between 40 and 70%.
