The present invention relates to methods and compositions for modifying peptides, polypeptides and proteins with polymers, especially glyco-mimetic polymers, so as to improve their biological activity or pharmacokinetic properties. The invention further provides methods and uses for such polymer- modified peptides, polypeptides and proteins. The invention is particularly suitable for use in the synthesis of polymer-modified synthetic bioactive proteins (Figure 1D), and of pharmaceutical compositions that contain such proteins.

Cette invention a trait à techniques, ainsi qu'aux compositions correspondantes, permettant de modifier des peptides, des polypeptides ainsi que des protéines, au moyen de polymères, notamment de polymères gluco-mimétiques, et ce, afin de renforcer l'activité biologique de ces peptides, etc., ou d'en améliorer les propriétés pharmacocinétiques. Elle concerne, de plus, des techniques relatives à ces peptides modifiés par des polymères ainsi que l'utilisation qui en est faite. Les procédés selon l'invention s'appliquent tout particulièrement à la synthèse de protéines synthétiques bioactives modifiées par des polymères (figure) et à la préparation de compositions pharmaceutiques contenant ces protéines.
