A pharmaceutical pig is used to transport a syringe containing a liquid radiopharmaceutical from a radiopharmacy to a medical facility for administration to a patient. The pharmaceutical pig includes an elongate polymer cap that is removably attached to an elongate polymer base. The elongate polymer cap includes a cap shell that completely encloses a cap shielding element and the elongate polymer base includes a base shell that completely encloses a base shielding element. Preferably the polymer utilized for the cap shell and the base shell is polycarbonate resin, e.g., LEXAN®. An inner liner is not utilized and the cap shielding element and the base shielding element, which are preferably, but not necessarily, made of lead, are completely sealed and unexposed.
L'invention concerne un boîtier pharmaceutique utilisé pour transporter une seringue contenant un produit radiopharmaceutique liquide depuis une radiopharmacie vers une installation médicale afin de permettre l'administration à un patient. Le boîtier pharmaceutique comprend une capsule polymère allongée fixée de manière amovible sur une base polymère allongée. La capsule polymère allongée comprend une enveloppe de capsule qui renferme totalement un élément de protection de capsule; la base polymère allongée comprend une enveloppe de base renfermant totalement un élément de protection de capsule. De préférence, le polymère utilisé pour l'enveloppe de la capsule et pour l'enveloppe de la base est une résine polycarbonate, par exemple, du LEXAN®. Un revêtement intérieur n'est pas utilisé et l'élément de protection de capsule et l'élément de protection de la base, lesquels sont, de préférence, mais pas obligatoirement, constitués de plomb sont totalement scellés et non exposés.
