The invention provides a method of polymerising monomer to form polymer at the surface of solid particulate material, said method comprising: providing a dispersion of said solid particulate material in a continuous hydrophilic liquid phase, said dispersion comprising a hydrophilic RAFT agent as a stabiliser for said solid particulate material, and said continuous hydrophilic liquid phase comprising one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers; and polymerising said one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers under the control of said hydrophilic RAFT agent to thereby form polymer at the surface of said solid particulate material.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de polymérisation d'un monomère dans le but de former un polymère à la surface d'un matériau particulaire solide, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : fournir une dispersion dudit matériau particulaire solide dans une phase liquide hydrophile continue, ladite dispersion comprenant un agent RAFT hydrophile en tant que stabilisant dudit matériau particulaire solide et ladite phase liquide hydrophile continue comprenant un ou plusieurs monomères à insaturation éthylénique ; puis polymériser ledit ou lesdits monomères à insaturation éthylénique sous le contrôle dudit agent RAFT hydrophile, de manière à former un polymère à la surface dudit matériau particulaire solide.
