The methods of the invention, generally, provide a method of representing a sequence of a biological polymer as a graphic function for visualization that depends on the sequence of monomers in the polymer and the geometry of unit cells in a crystalline space. In one implementation, a biological sequence is represented as an aperiodic movement on a pre- determined crystalline space. The representation can be used, e.g., for analytical, diagnostic, and comparative methods.
