POLYMER SOLUTION TREATMENT PROCESS Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention provides a process to remove phosphine residue from a hydrogenated polymer solution. The process requires the addition of an organo-halide reagent (for example, benzyl bromide) to the hydrogenated polymer solution, which results in the formation of a phosphine-containing precipitate. The precipitate is then separated from the solution by mechanical means (for example, filtration or centrifugation).
