The present invention relates to a polymeric composition which comprises the use of additives having properties of emission and/or absorption of radiation in the long-wavelength infrared region, and also to articles manufactured using this composition. The present invention also relates to methods for the manufacture of yarns and polymeric compositions containing these additives, and also to textiles articles, such as fabrics or knits, manufactured using these yarns, and also to the use thereof. More specifically, the composition comprises organic additives or inorganic fillers which have a capacity for absorption/emission of radiation in the infrared region, in a wavelength range of between 2 µm and 20 µm, and also a polymeric substrate, wherein the inorganic fillers may be of at least one type chosen from oxides, sulphates, carbonates, phosphates and silicates, and have an average particle size of less than 2 µm.
