The present invention relates to hydrophilic polymeric compositions for making a liquid impermeable moisture vapour permeable structure, for example by forming the composition into a layer or coating onto a suitable substrate for example a microporous film and to composite structures comprising the compositions. The hydrophilic polymeric compositions of the present invention do not solidify at room temperature, but remain viscous or "creamy". This prevents layers made from the hydrophilic polymeric composition of the present invention from settling as a film so that delamination of a composite structure comprising the hydrophilic polymeric composition coated into a layer onto a suitable substrate is avoided. The hydrophilic polymeric compositions of he present invention can find a variety of applications wherein liquid imperviousness and moisture vapour permeability are desirable.
La présente invention concerne des compositions polymères hydrophiles permettant de faire des structures imperméables au liquide et perméables à la vapeur d'eau, par exemple en formant la composition en une couche ou un revêtement sur un substrat approprié, par exemple un film microporeux et sur des structures composites comprenant les compositions. Les compositions polymères hydrophiles de la présente invention ne se solidifient pas à température ambiante, mais restent visqueuses ou "crémeuses". Cela empêche que les couches faites dans la composition polymère hydrophile de la présente invention ne sèchent sous forme d'un film de façon à éviter toute délamination d'une structure composite comprenant la composition polymère hydrophile appliquée en couche sur un substrat approprié. Les compositions polymères hydrophiles de la présente invention peuvent convenir à diverses applications dans lesquelles on souhaite l'imperméabilité aux liquides et la perméabilité aux vapeurs d'eau.
