Biaxially oriented polyolefin films having a first outer polymeric layer defining a first outer surface and a second outer polymeric layer defining a second outer surface, the first outer layer containing an antiblock agent and being at least 0.7µm thick, the polymer of the first layer comprising a random propylene/butene-1 copolymer containing from 12 to 45 mole percent of units derived from butene-1, and the second outer surface having a coefficient of friction of from 0.1 to 0.35. Films of the invention have a low heat seal threshold combined with the ability to form heat seals at high speeds.
