ABSTRACT POLYMERIC HINDERED AMINE LIGHT STABILIZER The present invention relates to novel compounds corresponding to the formula: Image wherein R1 and R4 may be the same or different, and each is a lower alkyl radical; R2 and R3 may be the same or different, and each is a substituted piperidine radical; M is equal to the total number of monomer units in the polymer chain, and is of a magnitude sufficient to provide a polymer having a molecular weight of at least 500; W is equal to at least 0.5, X is equal to at least 0.1 but not greater than 0.2, Y is equal to at least 0.1, Z is equal to at least 0.05 but not greater than 0.2, and W plus X plus Y plus Z is equal to 1. These novel compounds are useful as stabilizers for a wide variety of organic materials and are prepared by transesterification of a suitable acrylate-methacrylate copolymer.
