ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A three-dimensional polymeric material in the form of spherical particles having a diameter of up to 3 mm and containing up to 40% of free aldehyde groups is formed by radical copolymerization of a monomer of the general formula: Image (I) where R1 is hydrogen, alkyl with 1 to 5 carbon atoms, aryl or furyl and R2 is hydrogen, alkyl with 1 to 5 carbon atoms, halogen, nitrile, aryl or furyl, with a crosslinking agent in an amount of from 43.8 to 63.6% on a molar basis. The material may be used in continuous column processes, e.g. in catalysis of organic syntheses, separation of amines, and immobilization of compounds which contain primary amino groups.
