A method of forming a moulded product of settable resin reinforce with fibres comprising drawing a bundle of tows of reinforcing fibres through a bath of fluid but settable resin mix and between die cavities of an open die, closing the die to conform the envelope shape of the tows to the shapes of surfaces which define cavities in the die; characterised by pinching the tows of the bundle at least at one end of the die sufficiently to inhibit expulsion of resin from that said end, and subjecting said tows to a high pressure while the resin sets.
Méthode de fabrication d'un objet moulé composé de résine durcissable renforcée de fibres. La méthode consistant à étirer un paquet de filasses de fibres de renfort à travers un bain composé d'un mélange de résine fluide, mais durcissable entre les cavités d'une filière ouverte, à refermer la filière pour faire correspondre la forme de l'enveloppe de filasses aux formes des surfaces que définissent les cavités de la filière. Cette méthode a pour caractéristique particulière le fait que les filasses du paquet sont suffisamment pincées à une extrémité de la filière au moins, pour empêcher l'expulsion de la résine de cette extrémité et qu'elles sont soumises à une pression élevée pendant le durcissement de la résine.
