Polymerizable imidazolidinones impart wet adhesion and scrub resistance properties to all acrylic and vinyl/acrylic latex based paints. The imidazolidinones have the general structure: (see fig. I) in which R1 is hydrogen or a C1-C6 linear or branched alkyl group or hydroxyalkyl; X is a divalent radical selected from the group consisting of -(CH2)m-, (see fig. II), and (see fig. III), and (see fig. IV) in which R is a hydrogen or a methyl group, m is an integer from 0 to 5, and n is an integer from 1 to 5; R2 is hydrogen or a methyl group; R3 is hydrogen or (see fig. V) in which R4 is a hydrogen or a linear or branched C1 or C6 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; R5 and R6 are independently hydrogen or a linear or branched C1-C4 alkyl group.

Divulgation d'imidazolidinones polymérisables qui procurent une adhérence au mouillé et une résistance au lessivage à toutes les peintures à base de latex acrylique ou vinylique/acrylique. Ces imidazolidinones ont la structure générale suivante (voir figure I), dans laquelle : R1 est un atome d'hydrogène, ou un alkyle ou un hydroxyalkyle ramifié ou linéaire en C1-C6; X est un radical divalent choisi parmi le groupe constitué de -(CH2)m-, (voir figure II), (voir figure III) et (voir figure IV), dans lesquelles R est un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement méthyle, m est un nombre entier allant de 0 à 5 et n est un nombre entier allant de 1 à 5; R2 est un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement méthyle; R3 est un atome d'hydrogène ou (voir figure IV), dans laquelle R4 est un atome d'hydrogène, ou un alkyle ou un hydroxyalkyle linéaire ou ramifié en C1-C6; R5 et R6 représentent chacun, de manière indépendante, un atome d'hydrogène ou un alkyle linéaire ou ramifié en C1-C4..
