A polymerizable composition is described, which composition comprises a polyol(allyl carbonate) monomer, e.g., diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) monomer, and an additive represented by general formula (II), wherein R2 and R6 are each selected independently from hydrogen, C1-C20 linear or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl having from 5 to 7 carbon atoms in the cyclic ring, aryl, C2-C20 linear or branched alkanoyl, cycloalkanoyl having from 5 to 7 carbon atoms in the cyclic ring and aroyl, R2 and R6 each being free or radically polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups; R3O and R5 are the same or different, R4O is different than each of R3O and R5O; R3O, R4O and R5O are each independently a divalent residue of an epoxide; x and z are each independently a number from 0 to 200, provided that the sum of x and z is greater than zero; and y is a number from 3 to 200. The additive is present in the composition of the present invention in an amount at least sufficient such that a polymerizate of the composition is substantially free of tinting defects, such as ferns and moons.
L'invention concerne une composition polymérisable contenant un monomère de polyol (allyle carbonate), par ex. un monomère de diéthylène glycol bis (allyle carbonate), et un additif représenté par la formule générale (II) dans laquelle R2 et R6 sont indépendamment sélectionnés dans le groupe comportant l'hydrogène, un alkyle linéaire ou ramifié ayant 1 à 20 atomes de carbone, un cycloalkyle ayant 5 à 7 atomes de carbone dans le cycle, un aryle, un alkanoyle linéaire ou ramifié ayant 2 à 20 atomes de carbone, un cycloalkanoyle ayant 5 à 7 atomes de carbone dans le cycle, et un aroyle, R2 et R6 étant tous deux libres de groupes insaturés éthyléniquement, radicalement polymérisables ; R3O et R5O sont identiques ou différents ; R4O est différent de R3O et de R5O ; R3O, R4O et R5O représentent indépendamment un résidu bivalent d'un époxyde, x et z représentent indépendamment un nombre de 0 à 200, leur somme étant supérieure à 0 ; et y est un nombre de 3 à 200. Ledit additif est présent dans la composition selon l'invention dans une quantité au moins suffisante pour qu'un polymérisat de la composition soit exempt de défauts de coloration tels que des fougères et des lunes.
