U.S. SN 867,645 Filed Jan. 6, 1978 D.N. 77 -080 POLYMERIZATION INHIBITORS Abstract of the Disclosure A method is disclosed for inhibiting the polymerization of an aqueous solution of an acrylate or methacrylate salt. The method comprises contacting the salt with a polymerization inhibiting amount of a nitrosophenolate or a substituted nitrosophenolate. A composition is also disclosed which comprises an aqueous solution of an acrylate or methacrylate salt and a polymerization inhibiting amount of a nitrosophenolate or a substituted nitrosophenolate.
