In a polymerization process, a catalyst system including one or more Lewis acid and one or more initiators, a diluent comprising one or more hydrofluorocarbon(s) (HFC's), and one or more monomer(s) are contacted to form a polymerization medium. During polymerization, the polymerization medium is evaporated. The polymerization process utilizes boiling pool reactor systems to form the resulting polymer.
