"POLYMERS HAVING ENHANCED ELECTRICAL AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES" ABSTRACT Liquid crystal polyerms are associated with units which are active an an electric or magnetic field to produce a polymeric product having enhanced physical magnetic or electric properties. The electrically or magnetically active unit used in the invention can be associated with the liquid crystal polymer by reaction with the liquid crystal polymer to form a copolymer, or by being dissolved or otherwise intimately mixed in the liquid crystal polymer. Suitable magnetically active units include metal complexes based on bis(sali- cylidene)ethylenediimine.
