ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: This invention relates to an aqueous gel particularly useful in the formation of topically applied cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions, which comprises a capped polyether polymer and a surfactant. The capped polyether polymers used in the gel can be obtained by modifying a conventional polyether polyol with an alpha- olefin epoxide having an average of about 20 to 45 carbon atoms or mixtures thereof.
