Two new polymorphic forms of (E)-7-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-6-isopropyl-2- [methyl(methylsulfonyl)amino]pyrimidin-5-yl](3R,5S)-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-en oic acid tris(hydroxymethyl)methylammonium salt (1), processes for making them and their use in the production of a pharmaceutical useful in the treatment of, inter alia, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and atherosclerosis are described.

L'invention concerne deux nouvelles formes polymorphes de sel tris(hydroxyméthyle)méthylammonium (1) de l'acide (<I>E</I>)-7-[4-(4-fluorophényle)-6-isopropyle-2-[méthyle(méthylsulfonyl)amino]pyrimidine-5-yl](3<I>R</I>,5<I>S</I>)-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-énoïque. La présente invention porte également sur des procédés pour produire ces substances et sur leur utilisation dans la production d'un produit pharmaceutique utile pour traiter, entre autres, l'hypercholestérolémie, l'hyperlipoprotéinémie et l'athérosclérose.
