Water-soluble polymyxin B/dextran conjugates (or salts thereof) having anti- endotoxin activity greater than unconjugated polymyxin B. They can be prepared by reacting polymyxin B or a salt thereof with dextran in an aqueous medium at a pH of from about 9.3 to about 10 and a temperature of from about 30~ to about 35 ~C.

Conjugués hydrosolubles de polymyxine B et de dextrane (ou sels desdits conjugués) ayant une activité anti-endotoxine plus forte que la polymyxine B non conjuguée. Lesdits conjugués peuvent être préparés en faisant réagir de la polymyxine B ou un sel de ladite substance avec du dextrane dans un milieu aqueux et un pH d'environ 9,3 à environ 10 et à une température d'environ 30· à environ 35· C.
